The Encyclopaedia of Iranian Folklore is a scientific encyclopaedia about Iranian Folklore. Entries in this encyclopaedia are mainly about the material and spiritual topics concerning the folklore of Iranians living in different parts of Iran. The entries have been divided into 20 subtitles which include food, clothes, games and plays, art, handicrafts, music, folklore literature, folklore medicine, belief and faith, customs, institutions relating to folklore, personalities and experts in this field, books and folk texts.
More than 120 researchers and writers from Iran and abroad are contributing to this encyclopaedia and are responsible for researching and writing articles. Many of the writers and researchers who are contributing to this encyclopaedia are among the prominent scientists and researchers around the world and some are young recently graduated researchers who have started their work by taking courses at this department and have become professional researchers and authors.
